Our church challenged us to spend $5 in an unlikely way, sharing the Christmas joy.
We purchased 2 boxes of Borax.
Watch over the coarse of the week here to see what we can do!
Jack and Charlie plotting.
Grandma Ruth supplied white pipe cleaners for our project.
Quote of the evening by Sara, "Jack, I need the pipe cleaners you stuck in your pants."
Mike's reply, "Boy, if I had a quarter for every time I heard that!"
Eight pipe cleaner snowflakes are hung and currently cooling in a slurry of boiled water, half a box of borax, and blue food coloring.
After 24 hours, the borax is starting to do its magic.
Batch one complete.
The snowflakes were packaged with a couple scripture verses and a Christmas wish. Rob, Charlie, and Jack hand-delivered them to twenty-four special residents of a local Christian nursing home.
To quote Jack upon leaving the home, "That was fun, Mom. That was fun."
Charlie seconded his comments.
