Good Day!
Will's papers are in China!
Here's a generalized list of the remaining steps in the adoption process:
- LID: China logs in our papers to their computer system.
- LOA: China reviews our papers and sends an official letter of acceptance.
- i800: We submit our request to adopt Will to the USCIS
- NVC Letter: The USCIS forwards approval to the National Visa Center who cables our approval to the US Consulate in China and notifies us by letter that they have done so.
- Article 5: The NVC letter is sent to the US consulate in China who issues the Article 5 notice, providing pre-approval for an immigrant visa.
- TA: The article 5 notice is sent to the Chinese Center for Adoption Affairs issues Travel Approval.
- Travel plans are made and we get Will.
Now, we just pray, pray, pray these steps are all done smoothly and quickly.

Rocket Ship Prayer Request
The other day, Jack was pretending that he and I were in a rocket ship. He said, "We made it!" I asked if we were on the moon. He said, "No. We're going to get Will." How I wish it were that easy.
We did receive our US adoption approval notice (i800A) this past week. After waiting 6 months for Illinois approvals and just under 3 months for this U.S. approval, we are finally ready to submit our documents to China. Although we are excited to have one more step completed, there is great uncertainty regarding the timing in this next step. As Mike put it, it feels kind of like we're sending our papers into a black hole.
We rely on the truth that God knows the timing of when we get to welcome this sweet face home.
Mathew 7:7-8 has been running through my mind all week...Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
With that in mind, please pray that Will's papers sail smoothly through the right channels. And please pray we receive China's acceptance to adopt will in rocket ship-like time.

Jack's Thing
Jack loves the pool.
He loves the water.
He loves his swimming apparel.
And he loves the pool snacks.
Under the Lights
Rob had his first 8pm game, last night.
Dugout Activity |
That might explain why these pictures look the way they do.
Next Up |
We've got a lot of post-bedtime games coming up.
Maybe by the end of the season, I'll have figured how to capture night images.

Aunt Debbie brought Rob a wonderful surprise this week.
Here's a snippet of what both Rob and Charlie have captured since obtaining a real camera.
Thanks, Deb!
