Picture Bribery

Jack, I'll take your picture if you take just a few more bites.

I knew you could do it!

OK, you may be done.  What did you think?

No Procrastination Here

Three hours into his summer vacation,
Rob has completed his summer reading assignment
and organized his school supplies for next year.

If apples don't fall far from the tree,
this one fell from the Gentle tree;
definitely not mine.

Funny Conversation

At least this really tickled me if no one else.  The phone rang this afternoon.  When I answered, this was the real conversation that took place.

I answered, "Hello?"
The lady's voice on the other end politely asked, "Is Robert there?"
I said, "Uh, yes."
Then, the lady said, "May I speak to him?"
So I said, "Yes, but may I ask who is calling?"
Her response was, "This is X from X Family Dental, calling to confirm his appointment for tomorrow."
I chuckled and said, "Oh!  You do realize he's like six years old."
Then she replied, "Actually, our records say he is seven."

I thought about asking her if she wanted to speak to Jack too, but went ahead and just confirmed our two appointments.

Charlie's First Ripe Strawberry

The strawberry worth a thousand pictures...

So many expressions from the kid who asked why can you see through water, today.

New Blue Shoes

These baseball shoes left Charlie with post-game blisters.
Can you believe the size of this kid?!?
His feet must not hurt too bad.
But how about my back!

Meet Dusty

Not sure who I enjoy more, Dusty the frog (as named by Charlie) or Jack in his getup.

Mothers Day Summary

My Mother's Day was filled with small town fun.  We rode our bikes to the local tennis court.  It was Jack and Charlie's first time playing.  They both did great.  Then we rode to Casey's Gas Station for Icees.  No photos taken but lots of happy memories.

I also read this GOOD THINGS post by another New Day family on Mothers' Day.  If you have time, it is an AMAZING story.  God truly will reveal His heart when we blindly follow.

Oh, and one other thing...I found this in Rob's backpack, last night.  Even if he had no intentions of giving to me, it still made my day complete.

Kind of an Update

A team of doctors and an occupational therapist just finished a visit to Will's orphanage.  They have blogged many positive things about the Baotou City SWI.  Although it wasn't exactly stated in Will's papers I am guessing he too was cared for by Chinacare in Beijing.  This little trip and their blog pictures have given us a lot of peace as we wait, knowing Will's being well taken care of.  Click here to see the ASIA trip pictures.  Will is not in them, but we are fairly certain he's at this orphanage.

The Day After

He played hard.  Now, he's working hard.
