Financial Lessons

Rob was dreaming out loud the other day how nice it'd be to live in a nicer home.  I tried to take advantage of the opportunity to share his parents' thoughts on the subject.  This is what I told him.

We could live in one of these...

or we could have OUR HOUSE and 4 of these.

We could drive 2 of these...

or we could drive OUR CARS and bring home faces like these.

We could belong to a country club like one of these...

or we could belong to OUR CHURCH and donate to organizations who save lives like this.

Rob's response was, "Wow, we live in a VERY GENEROUS town!"  I asked him what made him say that.  He said because everyone must be using their money for good since we're all choosing to live in homes like these...

Interesting thought, Rob!

Science Day

R & C had a great afternoon with their dad, this past Sunday.
The kids wrote their names on their name tags.
The Lowe's assistant kept calling Charlie, "Chetlie."
 LOTS of fun!
 See a future mad scientist?
 It's OK, but not yellow.
 Another pose.
Someday, I can just see these two floating around space!
You may be asking, where was Jack?
Poor thing had a cold and was just too tuckered out.
Next year, he's going for sure!

Heart Walk

Boys, I want a family shot.
R & C, please look at the camera.
 C, smile please.
 Common, C, where's your smile!
J, look back at the camera.
 R, look at the camera.
J and R, look at the camera, please.
 Uh oh, what happened C?
Oh no, C, please not now!
 Dad, hit you?!  Really?!?
(Actually a SLIGHT bump of the arm, when getting R's attention.)
OK, I give up.  Let's go walk.
J, you always have a smile for me!
Pictures of their back sides are so much easier.

Spring Bluebirds Perform

Sorry, no really funny material here.
Charlie has matured quite a bit from last year.

Not Home, But Already a Star!

Well, we are officially one step further in the process.
We receive state's approval, and submitted our USCIS application, yesterday!
Now we wait some more.

On another note, one of my favorite blogs is running Will's naming story today.

Newest Pets

Charlie's first love is animals.
He spent a good portion of last summer checking his bird nests.
We were thrilled to discover a new couple moving in.
Charlie's pretty certain the momma and papa are House Finches.
Charlie located them on page 391 of his
National Geographic Field Guide to Birds of Eastern North America.
No joke.
This kid's got a gift.

Go Fish Goes Well!

Rob's 1st grade class performed Go Fish, last night.
They made quite a splash.
Our tiger shark had quite a few lines to remember.
He did great.
We were very proud!
