Letter to the North Pole

Dear Santa,
Charlie asked that we make sure to give you his wish list before this Christmas Eve.

If you need help deciphering it, here goes:
Upside-Down, Flying Bicycle

 Charlie's Chore Robot
Magical Hat that Converts Humans to Bugs

Science Experiments (To share with Rob)

And if you can make his wishes come true, we promise to give this kid a catalog to look through, next Christmas.
Merry Christmas, Santa!

Up On the Housetop

Cookies! Cookies! Cookies!

Tonight we called in the troops to help us decorate our cookies for Santa.

No one, too young or too old, male or female, was given a pass at decorating.

Luke, get over here and help!!!

Rob's wonderful artistry.

Charlie, what is your favorite part, the cookies or the FROSTING?

Introducing The Red and Green Christmas Mummy, as named by himself.

Jack enjoying one of his own creations!

Fifty-one cookies decorated in under an hour.
I wonder how many will be left for Santa's plate, come Friday night.
Thanks, everyone!

Our Unexpected Christmas Gift

Our family was blessed with the most unexpected gift this Christmas.  Rob’s baptism, today, was what we always hoped for him.  The decision was completely his own, unplanned, and with his dad.  God’s gift of salvation through His son has never seemed sweeter than when given as a parent to your own son, as it was for us today.

How to celebrate such a momentous event?  The Gentle men are rock climbing, of course!

Christmas Wishes

Santa asked, "What would you like for Christmas, little boy?"

Jack said, "A Christmas tree!"

Charlie said, "A bicycle I can ride upside down and in the sky."

Rob said, "A bee-bee gun."

Nothing better than some milk and cookies to follow a visit with Santa.

And one last picture!

Family Circus Snow Prints

We had our first real snow, last night.

The boys were so excited.

 Yes, that's Charlie running stocking-footed.

Jack's first American snow experience.

We made them come in and dress more appropriately.

The yard now looks like it came straight out of a Family Circus cartoon.

Prayers for a Special Little Girl

There's a little girl at New Day who definitely has stolen our family's hearts.  We don't know if she's the one God has chosen for our family.  But she does represent all the kiddos we'd love to bring home.  She was admitted for heart surgery during the night.  How I wish I could be in that hospital room comforting her.  Praise God for the power of prayer, so I'm asking you to join with me in showering this child with just that.  To see her picture, click here.
